More Pictures from around Guam

We haven't been too active lately, it's been raining daily. I have an interview with the local aquarium, Underwater World, on Wednesday next week for a diver/aquariumist. I'm super excited! I may get to swim all day with the sharks, rays, reef fish, etc and feed, clean, play with them!
Here are pics from the last couple of weeks.

A view from a boonie stomp where I busted my knee up.

It was only about a 200 foot drop to the crushing surf of the Pacific.

Really neat blow hole

This is an ancient Chamorro tool used for grinding food.

The Betelnut It's like a nicotine nut. Pretty gross with a numbing sensation

The practice is to crack the nut in half then wrap the leaf around it, chew on it sort of like chewing tobacco.

Fuji-ichiban! a 24 Hr. Ramen joint.

Fara and Jakobe on one of our beach hikes

This was my first attempt at climbing a coconut palm.

At the top picking my coconuts, one for each of us!

Coming down the palm, concentrating hard. It looked a lot higher once I got to the top!

The prized coconut!

Me eating the young coconut I harvested, and Jakobe carefully opening his.

Opening the coconut, Jakobe was able to keep his completely intact so we were able to drink the milk. I busted both of mine open.

Jakobe and Fara at the War in the Pacific memorial

MMmmm Spam and egg sushi!! Only on Guam.

The Champagne of Beers!

Living the High Life, thanks to Miller!
